See it to Believe it

So heartwarming to catch a video from my old coworker Nancy McCarthy who has since retired from MassArt CE but is still teaching painting. She would normally be heading to the Berkshires to teach their summer program, but as all has moved online for now I got to hear her talk about her upcoming course and a bit about her own practice and passion for painting outdoors. She talked about the effects of natural light on the cones of our eyes and the unexpected colors it stimulates us to see. As I walked past our wood pile after so many days of fog and rain I was immediately struck by this pink and orange log and smiled - though Nancy would also encourage us not to get too caught up in the beautiful, little details ;)
